"The rate at which a person can mature is directly proportional to the embarrassment he/she can tolerate"~Douglas Engelbart |
"Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity" ~ Einstein

"Never allow anyone to rain on your parade and thus cast a pall of gloom and defeat on the entire day. Remember that no talent, no self-denial, no brains, no character, are required to set up in the fault-finding business. Nothing external can have any power over you unless you permit it. Your time is too precious to be sacrificed in wasted days combating the menial forces of hate, jealously, and envy. Guard your fragile life carefully. Only God can shape a flower, but any foolish child can pull it to pieces" ~Og Mandino |

"A Hamburger is warm and fragrant and juicy. A hamburger is soft and nonthreatening. It personifies the Great Mother herself who has nourished us from the beginning. A hamburger is an icon of layered circles, the circle being at once the most spiritual and the most sensual of shapes. A hamburger is companionable and faintly erotic. The nipple of the Goddess, the bountiful belly-ball of Eve. You are what you think you eat" ~Tom Robbins |

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles" ~Audrey Hepburn |

I forget simple things, like, minding my own fucking business. I can see that something is gonna happen from a mile away. And even though I should look out for my friend and share some insight from a perspective I am all to familiar with, are they really my friend? I keep asking myself that.
Still, some people need to learn the hard way, and that's a judgment call about something that's really none of my business-so, I'll just go to a bar that's far-far away and drink a little blue drink with Julie. And watch Julie play pool and ask Julie for another blue drink...

"Huh,
what was that? I was not suppose
to win? I guess If I thought
that to then you probably
would've been right; oh well "
I mean this guy even had a peanut gallery while we were shooting for money,
all mouths, condescending insinuations that I was out matched, talking about
me in the third person while I'm standing there; allot of talking going on,
right up until I got the first game on the first break, then the second then
the third, by the fifth game that dude was alone with nobody talking shit
anymore. I got him on the first set with me at 7 and him at 1.
On
the second set he won the flip,
got the break, ran the rack,
and then broke again. He came
up dry and I owned him 6 games
after that. I could care less
if he had crew of supporters
in his corner. Cause I new,
his game was only as good as
I wanted it to be. I new, that
his game was only as good as
he-thought-I-thought he would
be; he was doomed to loose
his money and his pride.
The
more he spoke the more I
new he was going to loose.
It was not surprising at all
hearing the kind of rational
he had said to his friend while
he was breaking his cue and
tossing money owed to me on
the table.
He
said to me "you were not
suppose to win, you got lucky,
today was your day" I
said back to him "nobody
gets lucky 14 times buddy,
I beat you, period.
After
that unpleasent event, I had
no motivation to ever play
that little man again. I can
tell, no matter how many times
I'll beat him, I'll never make
a dent against an ego like
that. Especially when an ego
like that has friends to support
it... |

"A bad memory
is a lack of accountability" ~
F.N "I am responsible.
Although I may not be able to prevent
the worst from happening, I am
responsible for my attitude toward
the inevitable misfortunes that
darken life. Bad things do happen;
how I respond to them defines my
character and the quality of my
life. I can choose to
sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized
by the gravity of my loss, or I
can choose to rise from the pain
and treasure the most precious
gift I have - life itself." ~Walter
Anderson "Good men

"Don't show off every day, or you'll stop surprising people. There must always be some novelty left over. The person who displays a little more of it each day keeps up expectations, and no one ever discovers the limits of his/her talent" ~Baltasar Gracian - (william fuentes inserted "/her" next to "his") |
